How do I pay for my ride?
Elder Rides accepts all major credit cards, cash, and personal checks. Following your ride a billing invoice can be emailed to you for payment by credit card. You may also choose to mail a check. Please let us know when booking your ride how you would like to pay.
How far in advance do i need to book my ride?
Book your ride at least 24-48 hours before your pick-up time. Elder Rides can accommodate same day rides if a driver is available. To inquire about driver availability for same day rides, please call : (616) 414-8000
what are elder rides service hours?
Elder Rides provides ride service between the hours of 7am and 6pm, Monday through Friday. Saturday and evening rides are available by request.
Can my caregiver ride with me?
Yes! Elder Rides allows one caregiver to ride along at no charge.
will insurance help me pay for a ride?
Each insurance provider has varying policies and coverages. Contact your insurance company directly for details. Elder Rides can provide you with a paid invoice to give to your insurance company following your ride.
Can you stay with me during my appointment, event or outing?
Yes. Elder Rides Full-Service ride offers the additional service of remaining with you during your appointment, event or outing. Remember that beyond medical appointments, we can assist with activities like grocery shopping or just be there for companionship. Please be sure to let us know if you’d like a full service ride at time of booking.
what do you mean when you say a driver can act as a support professional?
Some of our drivers are licensed medical professionals with medical knowledge. These drivers can assist you in understanding new information your doctor may provide or ask questions to improve your experience. If you’d like a driver to serve as a support professional, please let us know when booking your ride.
Can you really take me anywhere i need to go?
Yes. You can request Elder Rides to take you anywhere! If our schedule allows and have a van available, we will try to get you there. Please note that rides outside of the listed service area are subject to additional fees.
What happens if must i cancel my ride?
Please call Elder Rides as soon as you know you will have to cancel a booked ride. We can rebook you as needed. Call our main number at 616-414-8000.
Does Elder rides offer rides for any age group?
Yes! Many of our clients are elderly however, anyone of any age can use our services.
Do you have a wheelchair if I need one to use?
Yes. Each of our vans are equipped with a standard wheelchair and cushion FREE of charge to use if needed when you ride with us.
